"Livvie", A Celebration of life Eudora Welty’s "Livvie", is an extraordinary story on how life ought to be praised. The story is about a young lady , who weds and elderly person, that in a since detains her. The little youngster gets another opportunity at life when a more youthful man (somebody her own age) enters her life and the more seasoned man is going to bite the dust. The subject Welty is attempting to get across is make every moment count. Welty shows the subject through the character, setting, and images. Characters assumed a major job in the story. To start with, Solomon who is the spouse of young lady. His name sort of clarifies what kind of man he will be in the story. Solomon was the ruler of Israel and in the story Welty gives data that Solomon is assuming a lord type job. Welty says Solomon had a bed "like a throne" (511). "Solomon had never let Livvie go any farther than the chicken house and the w ell. (515). Welty shows the control Solomon has over Livvie (the little youngster). Another indication of control that Welty appears in the story is, "Solomon would not have let Livvie take a gander at them, similarly as he would not let her glance at a field hand or a field hand take a gander at her" (512-513). He doesn't understand how unappreciative he is making Livvie. Livvie, her name also has an image. It implies "life" or "live".
